The Foundation supported the conservation and restoration of the 1973 Charles Russell Lowell Post #7 Grand Army of the Republic Monument in Mount Hope Cemetery in Mattapan. The monument marks the burial site of Civil War soldiers in the cemetery.

The canons used to erect the monument saw service on both sides of the Cvil War. Their conservation and restoration ensured their continued presence to publicly honor Boston’s Civil War dead.
