This grant supported the repair and preservation of the decorative elements of the exterior of the 1859 Eustis Street Fire House in Dudley Square. This included recreation of its historic fire door and windows, preservation of its wooden Italianate brackets and cornices, conservation of historic masonry window surrounds, and restoration of the historic slate roof. The Fire House now serves as Historic Boston’s headquarters.
